Myth #5: AC/DC and The Stones Get Paid

Their Success Is Not Your Argument

“AC/DC get paid.”
“The Rolling Stones get paid.”
“So I should get paid too.”

That logic sounds reasonable — until you think for five seconds.

Yes, they get paid.
A lot.

But not for the reason you think.

Why famous bands get paid

AC/DC and The Rolling Stones don’t get paid because they play guitar.
They get paid because they created demand.

They built:

  • a recognizable sound
  • a trusted brand
  • a predictable experience

When people buy a ticket, they know exactly what they’ll get.

That certainty is what people pay for.

Success is not transferable

Their success is not a credit card you can swipe.

You don’t inherit:

  • their audience
  • their reputation
  • their track record

Pointing at famous bands doesn’t prove your value.
It exposes that you haven’t defined it yet.

The uncomfortable homework

Those bands spent decades:

  • writing songs people cared about
  • performing relentlessly
  • building trust with an audience

That’s not an excuse.
That’s the assignment.

So the real question remains:
What do people get from your music — specifically?

If you can’t answer that clearly,
their success doesn’t help you.

They built a brand people already trust.
They sell an experience people want.

Reality check:
Their success isn’t your argument.
It’s your homework.
