Myth #7: “People Should Support Art” Doesn’t Sell Tickets

“People should support art.”

They don’t.

They support what they value.

“Should” is not a business strategy

“Should” doesn’t move wallets.
It doesn’t sell tickets.
It doesn’t fill venues.

The audience decides — not ideals.

Value beats ideology

People pay for:

  • results
  • experiences
  • emotions

Not moral obligations.

Reality check

If people don’t pay for your music,
they’re not immoral.

They just don’t see the value yet.

That’s on you.

myth #7 people should support art

For value.
For an experience.
