Myth #9: I’m Talented, So I Deserve It

Talent Is Not a Business Model

“I’m talented, so I deserve to get paid.”

No.

That’s not how markets work.

Talent is potential — not value

Talent is everywhere.
Good musicians are everywhere.

The market doesn’t pay for:

  • potential
  • effort
  • years of practice

It pays for results.

Why talent alone doesn’t sell

Talent without:

  • audience
  • reliability
  • clarity

is just unused capacity.

Harsh, but true.

One sentence test

What do people get from your music?

Not what you put in.
What they get out.

If you can’t answer that clearly,
talent won’t save you.

Reality check:
Talent isn’t a business model.
Value is.

The market doesn’t pay for potential.
It pays for results.
It pays for something people want.
