New clients often ask me:
“Why is no one listening to my music?”
Most think it’s because they don’t have enough followers, not enough marketing, or not a big enough budget.
But those are symptoms.
Not causes.
So I ask them two simple questions:
Know Your Audience!
1. Who are you writing for?
2. Why would someone listen to your music?
And that’s where everything breaks.
Because most musicians…
have no answer.
They write songs for “everyone.”
They hope someone will “just discover” them.
They create without direction, strategy, or purpose.
And that’s exactly why nobody is listening.
If you don’t know who you’re writing for, your music will reach no one.
The world is loud.
Algorithms are brutal.
Attention is expensive.
And vague music for a vague audience disappears instantly.
So if you don’t have an answer, do this:
Sit down.
Grab a piece of paper.
Start writing.
Don’t stop until you know exactly who your music is for — and why they should care.
Because once you have clarity, everything changes:
- your writing becomes focused
- your message sharpens
- your branding aligns
- your listeners finally recognize themselves in your music
So why is no one listening to your music?
Chances are,
you’ve already written the answer on that piece of paper yourself.
